The contrast between the fluidity of the water and the solid forms of the salmon provides a striking and balanced composition.
"Caribou Perilous Trek"
“Caribou Perilous Trek” depicts a group of six reindeer or caribou, rendered in black silhouettes against a light, blue sky. The animals are shown walking up a rugged, white terrain that suggests a snowy or rocky landscape. The overall composition captures a serene and natural moment, as the animals ascend the hill against the backdrop of the open sky.

Scattered across this sky are fluffy, white clouds with varying textures. Among these clouds, several vividly colored butterflies with intricate patterns on their wings are depicted. “Salmon, Salmon, Salmon” depicts a vivid and dynamic ocean scene with three large salmon. The salmon are painted in bright, contrasting colours: one in a striking red, and the other two in shades of golden-yellow. The fish are painted in a striking orange hue, creating a lively contrast against the blue water. The overall composition is dynamic conveying a sense of underwater life and motion.
"Monarch Floral"
This artwork features a textured white floral painting on a square canvas. The flower is painted with thick, impasto-style brushstrokes, giving it a 3D, sculptural quality. The white petals are detailed with the application of layered paint, lending a sense of depth and movement. At the heart of the flower, there is a darker, black center that contrasts against the lighter petals. The butterfly is intricately designed with fine details, adding a contrasting colour and an element of lightness to the composition.
"Monarch Breeze"
The artwork depicts a vivid and dynamic abstraction featuring a red butterfly at its center. The butterfly is intricately rendered with detailed wing patterns, which stand out against a swirling background of green, yellow, and black hues. The colours seem to explode outward, creating a sense of movement and energy. The use of contrasting colours makes the butterfly the focal point, highlighting its delicacy amidst the more chaotic surrounding textures. The overall composition is bold and vibrant, inviting viewers to explore the interplay between structure and fluidity.

OAC & the Province awards grant to continue migration series
I am thrilled to announce that I have been awarded an Ontario Arts Council and Province of Ontario grant to continue my “Migration Continued: Land, Air & Sea” exhibit. This exciting next phase will highlight three remarkable species: Sea Turtles, Whooping Cranes, and African Elephants. Through this grant, I will be able to explore and depict these magnificent creatures, emphasizing their critical role in our ecosystems and the challenges they face as migrating and endangered species.
The continuation of this exhibit is crucial in raising awareness about the plight of these species and the importance of their conservation. By bringing their stories to the forefront, I aim to inspire a deeper appreciation for their journeys and the need to protect their habitats.
